Q: How do I register as a buyer? 

Registering as a buyer with Ownersellers.com is simple and currently free. The best way to register is to click the "Login/Register" button on the top left hand side of the homepage, click on “Login as House Buyer” button and then click on “New house buyer? Register here”, complete your personal details. Click on the “Submit” button to create your account.

Q: How do I edit or update my details?

You can edit/update your account details by logging into your account and clicking on the “Account Management” tab from within your account control panel. Update your details by over typing the existing data and then click the “Change Details” button to save.


We encourage you to keep all account details up to date. This way we can always get hold of the correct person if we urgently need to.

Q: How do I set up/edit email alerts and monthly newsletter? 

Email alerts and monthly newsletter are automatically setup during your registration as a house buyer on Ownersellers.com. If you wish to change your alerts please follow these instructions:-

  • Login to your House Buyer account.

  • Click the “Configure Alerts” tab in your control panel.

  • Enter your preferences and click “Submit Preferences” button to save.

Q: How do I search for houses for sale?

To search for a property follow these instruction:-

  • Login to your House Buyer account.

  • Click on “Keyword Search” tab in your control panel.

  • In the search facility box enter key words such as reference number, post code, county name, region, country etc. and click on search.

Q: How do I add/remove a property to/from my shortlist? 

Only registered buyers have a shortlist. Therefore only registered buyers can add a house to their shortlist. To add a property to your shortlist follow these instructions:-

  • Login to your House Buyer account.

  • Click on “Keyword Search” tab in your control panel

  • Click on “Shortlist” button next to the property you wish to add.


To remove a property from your shortlist:-

  • Login to your House Buyer account.

  • Click on the green box at the top of the page titled “Shortlisted Listings”

  • Click on “Delete from Shortlist” button next to the property you wish to remove.

Q: How do I book a viewing?

You must register as a buyer on Ownersellers.com if you would like to book a viewing.


If you are already a registered house buyer please follow these instructions:-

  • Login to your House Buyer account.

  • Click on “Keyword Search” tab in your control panel.

  • In the search facility box enter key words such as reference number, post code, county name, region, country etc. and click on search.

  • Click on “View Property” button next to the property you wish to view.

  • While viewing the property details click on the green “Book a Viewing/Ask Vendor a Question” button found towards the bottom of the listing.

  • Complete the form with viewing date/time etc. and then click the “Submit” button to send.

  • We will acknowledge receipt and forward your request to the seller.

Q:  Why can't I contact the seller directly?

Our privacy policy is aimed at ensuring that all of our users` details are kept secure. We make use of a contact form to shield the personal details of our sellers from internet spiders that are intended to retrieve contact details for mailing lists which eventually result in an increase in SPAM. 


This strategy is in line with our policy to ensure the integrity of our users` details and we regularly update our security procedures to ensure maximum security of user details.




Q: How will sellers reply to my enquiry?

When you place an enquiry for a house listing on Ownersellers.com, we forward the contact details you have saved on your account to the seller.


The seller will then contact you to confirm the viewing request or answer your questions.

Please remember to keep your contact details up to date.

If you do not receive a response within 72 hours please contact us again as we may be having difficulties contacting the seller.




Q: How much stamp duty will I have to pay?

Stamp duty rules changed in December 2014 so that the tax is no longer charged at a single rate for the entire price of a property. You now pay stamp duty at different rates on portions of the price according to the following:- 

  • nothing on the first £125,000 of the property price

  • 2% on the next £125,000

  • 5% on the next £675,000

  • 10% on the next £575,000

  • 12% on the rest (above £1.5 million)
